Fatal Crash in New Italy, Richmond: NSW Police Responding

A truck driver has died following a crash in the state's north today.

About 4:15pm today (Monday 29 April 2024) emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, New Italy, approximately 46km south from Lismore, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Richmond Police District attended and found a Pantech truck had collided with a car, before rolling over.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the female driver of the car, aged 40, before she was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with minor injuries and shock.

The truck driver - a 39-year-old man - died at the scene.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.

One northbound lane of the Pacific Highway is closed.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
