Police Seek Witnesses After Collision In Thomastown

Greensborough Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Thomastown earlier this week.

It is believed a white VE SS Holden commodore, bearing stolen plates, was seen driving erratically on High Street about 8.55am on Monday, 15 April.

Police were told the commodore collided with the rear of another vehicle at the intersection of High Street and Austarc Avenue, before catching fire.

The driver exited the vehicle and fled the scene down an alleyway.

No one was injured during the incident.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the commodore, was perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his mid-20's, with dark hair.

He was wearing dark clothing including a brown Louis Vuitton cap with chequered print and a black backpack.
