Australian Border Force (ABF) investigators are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who may be able to assist with an investigation into attempts to export live lizards out of Australia.
In March, ABF officers seized three lizards suspected to be destined for sale through the lucrative illicit international wildlife market.
An air cargo company in Perth alerted ABF officers after finding three lizards in a consignment labelled as 'toys' bound for Malaysia on 29 February 2024.
As inquiries continue, ABF investigators have released CCTV of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries into the February consignment.
He is depicted as being of Asian appearance, aged in his early 20s, with a thin build, black hair and dark brown eyes.

ABF Assistant Commissioner Chris Waters said not only was it illegal to export Australian wildlife such as lizards without a permit, it was also extremely cruel as many animals didn't survive the journey.
"I am sure I speak for most Australians when I say this practice of smuggling our unique wildlife overseas for profit is completely abhorrent and our officers will stop these attempts in their tracks where ever we can," Assistant Commissioner Waters said.
