Casula Man Charged With Serious Domestic Violence by NSW Police

A man will appear in court today charged with domestic violence offences following the alleged assault of a woman in Sydney's south-west last week.

Just after 7.30am on Sunday 21 April 2024, police were called to Canterbury Road, Campsie, following reports of a domestic violence related assault.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and spoke to a 41-year-old woman who suffered injuries to her left eye and neck.

Police were told that the woman was allegedly assaulted by a man - known to her - before the man left the scene.

An investigation commenced into the incident, assisted by officers attached to South West Metropolitan Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team (DVHROT).

As part of extensive inquiries, officers attached to South West Metropolitan DVHROT attended an address on Glenfield Road, Casula about 4.30pm yesterday (Monday 29 April 2024)

With the assistance of specialist resources, a 45-year-old man was arrested about 5.45pm.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with intentionally choke etc person without consent (DV), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), destroy or damage property (DV), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (DV), and common assault (DV).

The man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 30 April 2024).
