The University of New Mexico's Successful Aging Grand Challenges Team is involved with the design and delivery of the International Conference on Frailty and Sarcopenia Research (ICFSR) next month in Albuquerque.
The conference will be held March 20-22 at Hotel Albuquerque Old Town. The local organizing committee is made up of the following Successful Aging Grand Challenge team members:
- UNM Professor Debra Waters (Committee Chair)
- UNM Professor Janice Knoefel
- UNM Professor Christophe Lambert,
- UNM Associate Professor Mark McCormick
- UNM Professor Ann Gibson
The ICFSR conference was created with the objective to speed the development of high-quality clinical trials in frail older adults by sharing experiences, success, and failure alike, to accelerate the discovery of treatments, prevention methods for healthy aging and prevention of disabilities and dependency in older adults.
ICFSR's mission is to educate others about the latest research pathways in the frailty, sarcopenia, and healthy aging field but also to provide opportunities for networking to promote research collaborations and partnerships.
The ICFSR is an international conference and is held alternating years in Toulouse, France.
