How do you set up successful interdisciplinary collaborations? That is the central question of a Leiden symposium. On 6 June, we look at cooperation and decompartmentalisation between public institutions. The language of the symposium will be Dutch.
To solve complex social issues, science increasingly uses interdisciplinary (cross-curricular) and transdisciplinary (cooperation between science and other parties) research or education projects. Not surprisingly, therefore, Leiden University is addressing successful examples of decompartmentalisation and interdisciplinary collaboration in a symposium, in order to stimulate and improve new links between science and practice.
The programme
The event will cover examples of successful interdisciplinarity and breaking down organizational boundaries. In separate sessions, various partners of Leiden University will tell us about successful collaborations with other organizations. After that, there will be a panel discussion between Jan Willem Erisman (interdisciplinary research programme Liveable Planet), Eefje Cuppen en Jet Bussemaker (interdisciplinary research programme Population Health Living Lab The Hague). These three professors are highly experienced in forging ties between research and public actors.
Also, there will be a marktet with stands where various organizations will offer opportunities for transdisciplinairy collaboration. At this you can collect ideas, insights, contacts or grant opportunities. In short: do not miss this meeting and register now as a participant.
