Man Charged for Hit-and-Run, Negligent Driving in Guildford

A man has been charged after a hit-and-run in Guildford this morning.

Emergency services were called to Military Road shortly after 5.10am today (Saturday 27 April 2024), after reports a man had been knocked off his Cavalier e-bike.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command arrived to find a 53-year-old man suffering injuries to his legs. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and examined by officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

About 9:50AM officers located a vehicle on Byron Road, Guildford and spoke with the driver.

The 30-year-old man attended Granville Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing GBH and negligent driving (occasions GBH) - 1st offence.

He was granted strict bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 21 May 2024.
