A man has been rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition following a crash at Port Adelaide this morning, according to SA Police.
Just before midday a van heading west along Nelson Road on the Tom Diver Derrick Bridge (which is the bridge that leads from the Port River Expressway to Birkenhead) veered suddenly on to the wrong side of the road and collided with a truck.
The driver and only occupant of the van has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition, it is believed he has suffered a medical episode while driving.
There are no other injuries.
Major Crash Investigators area at the crash site west bound traffic from the expressway is being diverted - please avoid the area if possible.
