We're at half-time in a series of upgrades at Shipston Reserve in Cheltenham to improve accessibility, player safety and spectator comfort.
With funding from Sport and Recreation Victoria, we realigned the cricket wicket earlier this year. This follows feedback from resident clubs and provides more space between the oval and wicket to support safe play.
More improvements coming over the next month include:
- replacing the carpet in the four changerooms
- a granitic sand path for better access around the storage cage
- safety bollards in the carpark
- handrails down the main steps
- timber seating for spectators
- upgraded accessible car parking, including a ramp.
These minor upgrades will make a big difference to creating a safe and enjoyable venue for both players and spectators.
