NSW Man Charged with Surveillance, Domestic Violence by Police

Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged a man with domestic violence offences after seizing several surveillance devices from a North Shore home under Strike Force Greenthorpe.

Strike Force Greenthorpe was established by State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad and the NSW Crime Commission to investigate the alleged importation and distribution of prohibited drugs in NSW.

About 7.40pm on Tuesday 7 May 2024, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Flaumont Street, Riverview.

During the search police located and seized $230,000 as well as two listening and GPS surveillance devices.

Detectives arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, and possess surveillance devices intend unlawful use.

Detectives will allege in court the man had installed the tracking devices in the vehicle of a woman who was known to him.

The 36-year-old was refused bail to appear before Manly Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 8 May 2024).

Investigations under Strike Force Greenthorpe are continuing.
