The Hume Highway is currently closed near Albury following a truck fire earlier today.
About 5am today (Friday 20 December 2019), a B double truck was travelling south on the Hume Highway near Albury, when the two trailers became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the vehicle stopped the truck and unhitched the trailers, before alerting emergency services.
NSW Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire, which had spread to surrounding grassland.
The Hume Highway was closed for a period of time, with traffic diverted through the Albury township.
Inquiries are continuing and the highway is expected to remain closed for several hours.
