Police Seek Information On Absconded Prisoner In Darwin

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to an escaped prisoner in Darwin earlier today.

A short time ago, three men, aged 18, 23, and 29 absconded from NT Correctional Custody at the Darwin Police Station on Knuckey Street, Darwin City.

Corrections Officers alerted NT Police who quickly arrested two of the men who are now back in custody.

The third man, aged 29, is believed to have fled out of the city with efforts underway to locate him.

He was last seen in Parap wearing a green prison attire with dark shorts.

Territory Duty Superintendent Troy Stephens said, "If members of the public sight the man , or know of his whereabouts, do not approach him, please call Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
