Snooze And Lose

Police have seized a number of items including firearms parts and ammunition after a man was found asleep behind the wheel in St Kilda yesterday morning.

St Kilda police located the car, which was still running, near the intersection of Inkerman and Chapel streets about 4.15am on 18 April.

They managed to rouse the 32-year-old Noble Park man in the driver's seat and a search of the car was conducted.

Police located two disassembled 3D printed firearms, metal firearm parts, ammunition, knuckledusters, fraudulent ID cards and a small quantity of 1,4 butanediol.

The vehicle was also a share car that had previously been reported stolen.

Detectives from the Illicit Firearms Squad subsequently executed a warrant at the man's home address in Noble Park and located further ammunition, a pill press and Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang clothing.

He was interviewed and subsequently charged with theft of motor vehicle, prohibited person possess firearm, possess tablet press, possess 1,4 butanediol, possess prohibited weapon and possess fraudulent document.

The man was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates' Court on 14 August.
