A vehicle has been seized for forensic examination after a child was found injured in the Southern Highlands yesterday afternoon.
Officers from The Hume Police District were alerted after the 13-year-old boy was found injured on the side of Isabella Way, Bowral, about 4pm (Wednesday 15 May 2024).
The child was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he is being treated for leg and facial abrasions. Police have been told his injuries are not life-threatening.
Initial inquiries indicate the child was hit while crossing the road after getting off his school bus.
A short time later, a white SUV was seized from a home nearby. The vehicle has been sent for forensic examination.
A 63-year-old man is now assisting with inquiries; however, no charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
