Three Men Charged With Aggravated Armed Robbery in Burnie

Police have today charged a 24-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old man, all from Somerset with various offences including Aggravated Armed Robbery, Assault, Possess Dangerous Article, Drug offences and Reckless Driving. These matters relate to a report of a disturbance behind a business in Wilmot Street Burnie on Tuesday 14 May 2024 around 1.10pm.

All three will appear in an out of hours court in Burnie.

The robbery involved threats with a knife and the stealing of a pair of sunglasses. The three males and the victim are known to each other, this was an isolated incident. A witness to the incident was threatened with a knife but no persons were injured as a result of the altercation.

Police wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed or have footage of the incident or the manner of driving of a White Holden Commodore Wagon and/or a Silver Nissan Pulsar in the Romaine, Shorewell, Park Grove, Montello of Burnie CBD areas between 1pm and 1.10pm on 14 May 2024.
