About 6.45am today, police attended a rail level crossing on the Princes Highway, Unanderra, after reports a car was struck by a train, NSw police said.
Police were told the vehicle broke down on he tracks, with the two occupants being able to escape before it was struck. They were uninjured.
Trains services have resumed and the Princes Highway has reopened.
