Two men injured in light plane crash at Port Pirie, SA

Two men are being treated in the Port Pirie Hospital after a light plane over turned on landing at Port Pirie this morning, according to SA Police.

Just before midday, the single engine two seater Vans RV7 light plane, was in the process of landing at the Port Pirie airfield, when the aircraft left the bitumen runway and flipped over, coming to rest on its roof.

Two men in the plane, both from NSW were taken to the Port Pirie Hospital for a treatment.

A 70-year-old man received a cut to the head and leg in the incident, while the pilot, a 62-year-old man was relatively uninjured and was taken to hospital for assessment.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau are investigating.
