Wadeye Arrest: Police Crack Down on Drug, Alcohol Offences

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to drug and alcohol offences in a Daly River Region community yesterday.

Around 2pm, police received anonymous reports from members of the public regarding a suspicious male allegedly supplying cannabis and liquor in Wadeye.

General duty officers quickly responded and apprehended a 45-year-old man during a traffic stop. He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, cannabis, and a large quantity of cash.

He has been issued with a Notice to Appear in court tomorrow.

Acting Superintendent Erica Gibson said, "Illicit substances cause substantial harm to people living in our remote communities, and police will continue to disrupt their supply and distribution at every opportunity.

"We're thankful to the members of the public who reported this incident, allowing us to quickly apprehend the offender and prevent further supply into the community."
