Million Dollar Fish Season 10 will give fishos a whopping 10 chances to reel in a life-changing million-dollar barramundi catch.
Season 10 of Australia's richest fishing competition opens tomorrow, 1 October 2024, and is set to be another massive season.
Ten fish sporting million-dollar tags have been activated.
This includes one newly tagged fish for Season 10, while nine fish from Season 9 will be reactivated with $1 million tags.
In exciting news for fishos, the million-dollar tagged barramundi will remain active in the off season, so you can fish all year round for the 'big one'.
Minister for Major Events Marie-Clare Boothby said the competition, a CLP initiative from 2015, was an example how tourism can play a part in rebuilding the economy.
It will also help restore the Territory's lifestyle, which was damaged under eight years of an abysmal Labor government.
"The Territory is renowned for its fishing and barramundi, so bringing together thousands of people who share a passion for both significantly boosts the Top End's economy and lifestyle," Ms Boothby said.
"The Top End is the only place in the country where you can go fishing and stand a chance to catch a million-dollar fish or one of the 99 $10,000 red-tagged barra released across the five main fishing regions - Tiwi Islands, Darwin, Katherine, Kakadu, and Arnhem Land.
"This is a competition anyone aged 18 and over can be a part of, all you have to do is register and wet a line, hit the water across the Top End and enjoy unparallelled fishing with the chance to reel in cash."
The competition returns after a history-making Season 9, where 19-year-old Keegan Payne from Katherine caught the 67cm million-dollar barramundi in the Katherine River.
Keegan was the first person since the competition began to reel in a million-dollar fish.
Since then, hundreds of red-tagged barramundi have been released into the Top End's stunning waterways, resulting in over $2 million in winnings to date.
When one of the 10 million-dollar barras is caught, the nine remaining fish revert to $10,000 tagged fish for the remainder of the season.
Competition favourites, Double the Dough and Fishmas, will return to add extra twists to Season 10.
Sportsbet NT Operations and Partnerships Manager Thijs Bors was excited for Season 10.

Season 9 was the biggest yet, generating a total expenditure stimulus in the Northern Territory of $91.8 million, of which $49.6 million was new money to the Territory.
The total expenditure was an increase of $21 million on Season 8.
Season 9 also recorded the highest number of registrations ever, with a total of 61,601.
Season 9 drew 9,602 visitors from interstate and overseas.
Research found 96.2 per cent of people who participated in Season 9 purchased products ranging from tackle to tours.
Cancer Council NT CEO Tanya Izod said Cancer Council NT was deeply honoured to be named the Million Dollar Fish charity for Season 10.
"Good luck to you all and remember Territory anglers to Slip, Slop and Slap before you go in the sun," she said.
Million Dollar Fish Season 10 delivered by Northern Territory Major Events Company runs from 1 October 2024 to 31 March 2025.
Registrations opened on 1 September 2024, and there are already 11,231 registrations.
Registration is free, and anglers must be over 18 and registered for Seas on 10 to claim any prize money.
