10 Charged After Drugs, Guns, Stolen Cars Seized

Ten people have been charged after drugs, firearms and stolen vehicles were seized after seven search warrants were executed across south-west Sydney under Strike Force Acyls.

Officers attached to South-West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad – Wetherill Park established to Strike Force Acyls in April 2024 to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Sydney's south-west.

On Monday 15 April 2024, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Wilson Road, Green Valley, where police located and seized $102,000 cash, a gel blaster, Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), and a vehicle which had been reported stolen.

On Tuesday 16 April 2024, a search warrant at a home on Granville Street, Fairfield, where police located and seized GBL, cannabis and a vehicle which had been reported stolen. A 36-year-old woman was arrested on scene before being taken to Fairfield Police Station where she was charged with supply prohibited drug more than/ equal to large commercial quantity, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (motor vehicle), receive motor vehicle part – theft, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, breach of bail, and two counts of possess prohibited drug. She is due to reappear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 23 January 2025.

On Thursday 18 April 2024, police stopped an allegedly stolen vehicle in Casula. A 37-year-old man was charged with possess unauthorised pistol and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner. A 28-year-old woman was also charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and fail to appear in accordance with bail acknowledgment. The vehicle was also seized. Both are due to reappear before Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday 21 January 2025.

On Saturday 14 December 2024, police stopped and searched a vehicle, locating heroin. A subsequent search warrant was executed at a home on the Hume Highway, Liverpool, where police located and seized heroin, methylamphetamine, cannabis, suboxone strips and more than $3700 cash. A 56-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug more than/ equal to commercial quantity. A 50-year-old woman was also charged with supply prohibited drug more than/ equal to commercial quantity and breach of bail. Both are due to reappear before Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 11 February 2025.

On Thursday 9 January 2025, a search warrant was executed at a home on Bold Street, Cabramatta West. Two men, aged 36 and 61, were arrested on scene. The older man was charged with two counts with supply prohibited drug over indictable and less than commercial quantity, and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000. He is due to reappear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 29 January 2025.

The younger man was charged with two counts of police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, two counts of drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, two counts of drive while licence cancelled, and drive while licence application refused. He is due to reappear before Fairfield Local Court today (Thursday 15 January 2025).

The same day, another search warrant was executed on Bracknell Street, Canley Vale, where police located and seized a shortened shotgun and ammunition. A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged with knowingly direct activities of criminal group, two counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, never licensed person drive vehicle on road - prior offence, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority, and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority. He is due to reappear before Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 19 March 2025.

Yesterday (Wednesday 14 January 2025), a search warrant was executed at a home on Harwood Avenue, Mount Kuring-Gai, where police located and seized methamphetamine, $412,060 cash, a crypto wallet and other items. A 32-year-old man was charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug more than/ equal to commercial quantity, hinder discovery evidence re: serious indictable offence, obstruct/hinder person executing warrant and possess DECCD to commit etc serious criminal activity. A 26-year-old woman was also charged with supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime. Both were bail reused to appear before Hornsby Local Court today (Thursday 15 January 2025). The male was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 13 March 2025. The female was granted strict conditional bail to appear 13 March 2025.

Since April this year, officers attached to Strike Force Acyls have seized GBL, methamphetamine (ICE), cannabis, heroin, and suboxone strips which have an estimated potential street value of $494, 200 as well as two stolen vehicles and about $533,940 in cash.
