$100,000 Clothing Burglary In South Yarra

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary and theft of high-end clothing in South Yarra on 12 May.

It is believed a man used a hammer to smash the front entry glass door of a high-end clothing store, about 4:20AM.

Investigators were told over $100,000 in designer ladies clothing, including cashmere coats and 'Linda' blazers, were stolen from the boutique store.

A large haul of clothing was loaded into a supermarket shopping trolley before being transferred to the tray of a silver Ford ute, being the get-away-car.

The older model Ford Falcon ute, being driven by the male offender, drove off towards the Yarra locality.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. The same male has committed numerous other commercial burglaries in the Merri-bek and Fawkner areas as well.

He is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his 40s with a solid build.

The man was seen wearing a black face covering and a black cap.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, with CCTV/dashcam vision or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an online confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
