Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol members have managed to remove another dangerous driver from our roads overnight, Victoria Police say.
They detected a Holden SS ute travelling at 199km/h in a 90km/h zone on Thompsons Road in Bangholme.
The 28-year-old Reservoir man has had his car impounded for 30 days and will be charged on summons with excessive speed & speed dangerous.
The impound forms part of Operation Nexus, a state-wide road safety focus for all police until Anzac Day.
Police will target speed, fatigue, distraction, seatbelt non-compliance and impaired driving in an effort to reduce road trauma and improve road user behaviour.
The operation runs for 13 days from 0001 hours Thursday 13 March until 2359 hours Tuesday 25 April.
