The Gold Coast Police District has this week welcomed 11 new first years constables who will be stationed across the area from Coolangatta to Pimpama.
Superintendent Peter Miles said these first years constables will be one of many cohorts due to be stationed on the Gold Coast throughout this year.
"The Queensland Police Service recruiting pipeline is flowing well and we expect to see more and more first year constables join the ranks of Gold Coast Police this year as they graduate from the Police Academy," said Chief Superintendent Miles.
Constable Caydenn Louw is from South Africa but has been living on the Gold Coast for the past 6 years. He has previously worked in IT for 10 years and at 27 has made the change to become a police officer. He says he is looking forward to getting out there and doing something that is genuinely exciting and different every day as well as helping the community.
19-year-old Constable Kaitlyn Panoho is from the Sunshine Coast and her father is a serving Senior Sergeant in Highway Patrol on the Sunshine Coast. With blue already running in her blood she is keen to make a difference in the community and help those people in their time of need.
The 11 FYCs are part of a cohort of 97 recruits who were inducted into the Queensland Police Service at the Oxley academy on Thursday (March 7).
