$13 Million To Drive Aged Care Innovation

Department of Health

The Australian Government is investing a further $13 million to drive innovation across the aged care sector.

This investment in Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) will help the scaling of innovative care models and workforce solutions.

It will allow ARIIA to continue to contribute to the quality of aged care by advising the sector on the skills, technology and know-how to deliver innovative, person-centred care.

ARIIA's work helps government and the aged care sector better understand how people age, what healthy ageing looks like, opportunities for innovation and best practice in aged care.

This Albanese Government investment will allow ARIIA to continue its current work and also establish an Aged Care Innovation Network and Community of Practice.

Formed in 2021 ARIIA has so far:

  • built a Knowledge and Implementation Hub that provides trusted, easy to use and up-to-date information and resources
  • assisted hundreds of aged care workers to develop local, innovative solutions and implement change in their workplaces through its Innovator Training Program
  • funded over 60 projects through its Research Grants Program.
