A 20-year-old man from Ulverstone was caught more than three times over the legal alcohol limit in Wynyard on Saturday morning.
The man, who was an unaccompanied learner driver, returned a breath analysis reading of 0.172.
He was arrested and bailed to appear in court at a later date and was disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months.
