Recipients of the 2023/24 WA Child Research Fund (WACRF) have been announced.
Following a competitive review process, more than $3.6 million was awarded for 6 projects with grants of approximately $600,000.
The WACRF was set up by the Department of Health and Channel 7 Telethon Trust in 2012 and has awarded more than $40 million to 154 wide-ranging projects.
These projects range from developing probiotics to prevent childhood pneumonia to understanding the lifelong impact of paediatric burns on children's health and reducing the impact of climate change on the health and wellbeing of children in WA.
In a boost to ensuring ongoing investment in child and adolescent health and medical research a $16 million boost to the WACRF has been announced.
Since then, more than $40 million has been awarded to 154 wide-ranging projects – from developing probiotics to prevent childhood pneumonia to understanding the lifelong impact of pediatric burns on children's health and reducing the impact of climate change on the health and wellbeing of children in WA.
