The 2024 HSC is in full swing, with students able to access their personalised HSC exam timetable from 9am this morning.
NSW Education Standards Authority CEO Paul Martin said the release of the written exam timetable marks a major milestone for the HSC Class of 2024, as they approach the end of a 13-year schooling career.
"Students have been working hard and are already more than halfway through their final HSC year. The arrival of the timetable provides some certainty around what is to come in the October exam period.
"It remains vital that students prioritise their mental health and wellbeing as they complete assessments and gear up for the exam periods.
"The wellbeing of students is more important than any exam and we encourage young people to keep exams in perspective – and to reach out for support if needed.
"The Stay Healthy HSC Hub remains a great one-stop-shop for students seeking resources, advice and tips, and I encourage all students to access those services," Mr Martin said.
The scheduling of exams for some 76,000 students is an enormous task, with this year's written exam period running over 18 days, involving 400,000 unique exam sessions across 760 exam centres.
"Thank you to the teachers, principals and support staff who have been working closely with students as they finish major works, submit assessments and prepare to sit exams.
"Past and current teachers also play a vital role in HSC exam development, supervision and marking processes, with some 5,500 individuals working at exam centres across the state and online. We could not run the HSC without their support," Mr Martin said.
HSC written exams will start on Tuesday 15 October with English paper 1 and finish with Geography on Friday 8 November 2024.
Students and schools can now access their personalised exam timetable via Students Online and Schools Online.
Languages and practical exam timetables are already available, with a generic written exam timetable available from the NESA website.
