2024 Leeton Photography Competition Winners Announced

Council is delighted to announce the winners of the 2024 Leeton Photography Competition, which ran from 1 June to 7 July. The competition attracted over 50 submissions from talented photographers across the Shire.

Participants showcased their creativity and passion through their lenses, capturing the essence of Leeton in five distinct categories: Nature and Streetscapes, Leeton Liveability, Waterways, Art Deco, and Resilient Harvest.

The winners of the 2024 Leeton Photography Competition are:

  • 1st Place: A Country Life (Brett Collins) - $500 voucher redeemable at local businesses
  • 2nd Place: Redblaze over Irrigation Channel (David Single) - $350 voucher redeemable at local businesses
  • 3rd Place: Leeton Fire Station (Neil McAliece) - $150 voucher redeemable at local businesses

Michelle Evans, Director of Economic & Community Development, expressed her gratitude to the community for their enthusiastic participation.

"We are thrilled with the incredible response to the photography competition. The residents of Leeton have truly showcased the beauty and vibrancy of our region through their stunning photos. We appreciate everyone who took the time to submit their work."

The judging panel, consisting of four Councillors and two Council Staff members, faced a challenging task selecting the winners due to the high quality and creativity of the submissions.

Council is pleased to announce that all shortlisted photos, including the three winning entries, will be exhibited at the Leeton Museum and Art Gallery at a special exhibition in late August/early September. More details about this exciting event will be revealed soon.
