2024 National Missing Persons Week - Always Searching

Today marks the middle of the 2024 National Missing Persons Week, running from 29 July to 3 August. NT Police are dedicated to raising awareness and taking proactive steps to locate and support the missing and their families.

National Missing Persons week raises awareness for significant issues surrounding missing people. This week of action not only aims to bring attention to the general issue but also shines a light on specific long-term missing persons cases across the nation.

This year's focus is "Always Searching", a campaign launched by Australian Federal Police that is highlighting eight missing women across Australia and urging the public to come forward with any information they have, not matter how big or small.

Northern Territory Police would like to put particular emphasis on Angie Fuller, who has been missing since January 2023. Angie was last seen driving a maroon Toyota Carolla on Tanami Road, Alice Springs NT on Monday 9 January 2023.

Detective Sergeant Ashley Dudson said, "We strongly encourage anyone with information, no matter how insignificant you may feel it is, to come forward.

"It could be the piece if information that moves the case forward and brings her family a small fragment of closure.

"We have 170 long-term missing persons cases across the Northern Territory.

"We also currently have 64 Unidentified Human Remains (UHR) and strongly encourage families of missing persons to attend their local police station and provide DNA.

"This DNA will then be compared with UHR from all over Australia and may provide the information needed to solve these cases.

"Again, we implore you, if you know something say something. If you have not yet provided a DNA sample, please do so.

"We are always searching."
