2024 WA Property Awards Winners Announced

Hesperia's Murdoch Square development has claimed an impressive four titles at the 2024 WA Property Awards, while Perron Group stalwart Ian Armstrong was bestowed the prestigious Property Leader title.

Murdoch Square, part of the Murdoch health precinct, took home the Best Mixed-Use Development, New Commercial Development, Sustainable Development and the President's Award on Friday Night at Optus Stadium during the property industry's night of nights.

The development is home to WA's first Courtyard by Marriott hotel, an aged care facility, specialist medical suites, WA's first medi-hotel, commercial offices and a private hospital. The landscaped plaza is embedded with food and beverage, tying together the buildings and forming a town centre.

Ian Armstrong, who retired from Perron Group earlier this year, was crowned the 2024 Property Leader title. Mr Armstrong joined Perron Group in 1973 and played a pivotal role in the development of Perron Group's extensive property portfolio.

He was chief executive of Perron Group from 1995 to 2010 and has been a director since 1989. Under Ian's leadership, Perron Group solidified its position as one of the biggest private shopping centre owners in the country.

"It was a great honour to recognise and celebrate the incredible projects, professionals and initiatives that have helped shape Western Australia at the property industry's night of nights on Friday at Optus Stadium," Property Council WA Executive Director Nicola Brischetto said.

"The winners have all demonstrated their exceptional ability to deliver projects and programs that are loved by West Australians all across the state.

"I would also like to acknowledge the 2024 WA Property Awards judges and thank them for their time and expertise in judging each category. They deserve our deep gratitude."
