2025 Australia Day Award Recipients Announced

Moulamein's Alan Fielding is Murray River Council's Citizen of the Year as council this week announced its award recipients for 2025.

Seven individuals and groups have been honoured for their contribution to the local community:

Citizen of the Year: Alan Fielding, Moulamein

Young Citizen of the Year: Katelyn Eddy, Mathoura

Sportsperson of the Year: Heath Moloney, Moulamein

Young Sportsperson of the Year: Connor Wilson, Mathoura

Community Group of the Year: Moulamein Automotive Club Inc

Community Event of the Year: Run Echuca Moama

Arts and Culture: Echuca Moama Theatre Company

Murray River Council mayor, Cr John Harvie congratulated the award recipients and nominees.

"On behalf of Council, I would like to acknowledge all the nominees and congratulate this year's award winners who are a shining example of how we can all have a positive and lasting impact in our community."

The award recipients will be presented with their award at local Australia Day breakfasts on January 26.
