Hobsons Bay City Council is embracing the 2025 International Women's Day theme of 'Accelerate Action' with two events to mark the occasion.
In the lead-up to International Women's Day on Saturday 8 March, the events will celebrate women in the community and engage in discussions around gender equality.
A world cafe style event will be held on Wednesday 5 March, with guest speakers leading discussions on gender equality topics.
Leyla Asadi (Western Bulldogs Community Foundation), Feona Wadsworth (Big Group Hug) and Ursula Lepporoli (The Substation, KPMG) will lead the discussions at the event.
Groups will spend 15 to 20 minutes with each discussion leader to hear about and join in the conversation around different topics.
With afternoon tea and child-friendly activities provided, community members are encouraged to attend this free event.
The following evening will see the popular business networking event return for another year.
The event, hosted jointly by Maribyrnong City Council and Hobsons Bay City Council, will feature special guest speaker Courtney Ray, CEO and founder of Daily Blooms.
Hobsons Bay Mayor Cr Daria Kellander will speak at the event alongside Maribyrnong representatives to demonstrate the strong inter-council relationship.
Tickets are $35 and available from Humanitix.
