21 New Social Housing Units Completed in Bassendean

The State Government has recently completed construction of two complexes of one and two-bedroom homes for social housing in Bassendean.

The new double-brick homes have been built by Shelford Constructions and Swan Group WA, and are centrally located, close to public transport, shops, schools and recreational facilities.

The properties are now in the process of being offered to applicants from the public housing list.

As stated by Housing Minister John Carey:

"The Cook Labor Government is investing a record $4.5 billion in housing and homelessness measures.

"These 21 new home units will provide safe and affordable homes to some the most vulnerable members of our community.

"Since the Cook Labor Government's record $4.5 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures, we've added more than 2,800 social homes, with more than 1,000 social homes currently under contract or construction, throughout Western Australia."

As stated by Bassendean MLA Dave Kelly:

"More safe and affordable housing in Bassendean means more housing choice and diversity throughout the electorate.

"The Cook Labor Government continues to deliver and drive investment and more housing into Bassendean as we respond to our community's needs."
