Tasmania Police has welcomed 22 new constables into their ranks, today being celebrated at this year's first graduation ceremony.
Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Felix Ellis, thanked the 22 new constables for their hard work and dedication in reaching this milestone.
"If you see one of our new constables out and about in the coming weeks, go and say g'day to the everyday Tasmanians that've put their hand up to keep you safe," Minister Ellis said.
"Through our Government's 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we're recruiting record levels of Police to keep Tasmanians safe.
"With four more recruit courses planned for this year, including a second intake to train at Tasmania's Police's northern campus, there's no doubt about it – we're delivering on our promise to Tasmanians.
"I wish our newest officers all the best and thank them for doing their part to keep Tasmania safe."
The new recruits will begin protecting communities from next week, with ten stationed in the south, five in the north, and seven in the north-west.
