$300 COVID-19 cluster isolation payment now available

South Australians who are required to get tested and isolate due to the current COVID-19 cluster, and who do not have access to paid leave or other income support, can receive a one-off $300 payment from the Marshall Liberal Government.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said the COVID-19 cluster isolation payment had been reinstated as the state undertakes a seven-day lockdown.

"We recognise that this is a challenging time for many people and especially for casual workers, sole traders and others who are unable to earn their usual income," said Minister Lensink.

"South Australians have responded with extraordinary resolve to the latest cluster and it is vital that everyone who has been at an exposure site continues to come forward for testing.

"If you've missed a shift or cancelled a client booking because you were required to isolate while awaiting test results, you may be eligible for this payment.

"This Marshall Liberal Government payment will be particularly welcome for anyone not eligible for Commonwealth COVID-19 disaster payments, including essential workers exempt from lockdown, international students and those who lost less than eight hours of work."

COVID-19 cluster isolation payment eligibility criteria:

*visited one of the declared exposure sites, between the indicated time periods, of the COVID-19 SA cluster from 17 July onwards – please see the SA Health website for a list of all exposure sites
