  • Project's completion follows spate of activity within Perth City Link, with Erben Place Pty Ltd to develop student accommodation facility for more than 1,100 students
  • Oceania Capital to also develop more than 200 build-to-rent dwellings nearby
  • Perth City Link delivering on Cook Government's housing supply and economic diversification priorities

Perth City Link has reached a new milestone following the completion of Perth Hub, a major residential development bringing more housing and amenities to the heart of the city.

Delivered by Far East Consortium (FEC), the 32-storey mixed-use development on Wellington Street features 314 new homes, including 37 affordable dwellings delivered through a partnership between the State Government and Foundation Housing.

FEC is also building the new Dorsett Hotel on nearby Milligan Street, enhancing the precinct's tourism offering.

The project's completion comes amid a spate of activity at Perth City Link, with Erben Place Pty Ltd developing Lot 19 on Roe Street as a 19-storey student accommodation facility for more than 1,100 students.

Following a competitive expression of interest (EOI) process for the last remaining lots in 2024, Oceania Capital Group has also recently been selected to develop Lots 12 and 18 on Wellington Street, with plans for a 32-storey build-to-rent residential tower comprising more than 200 dwellings, as well as a 26-storey hotel and short-stay apartment complex.

Perth City Link will be home to Edith Cowan University's (ECU) new city campus, which is being delivered in partnership between the Federal Government, State Government and ECU.

The new campus will play a vital role in supporting activity within Perth's CBD when it opens in 2026 and will be complemented by developments at Perth City Link, which are increasing housing supply and driving economic diversification through a range of tourism and hospitality offerings.

As stated by Premier Roger Cook:

"Western Australia already has the strongest economy in the nation.

"Our Government wants to maintain that position by ensuring every Western Australian has a home and that our economy is diversified for the future.

"Developments like Perth Hub aren't just increasing housing supply in the heart of our city - they are helping diversify WA by providing housing and activity around Edith Cowan University's new campus, which when complete will boost our State's international education sector.

"With more dwellings to become available in the coming months and years, we are working hard to ensure more housing is on the market where people want to live and work."

As stated by Planning and Lands and Housing and Works Minister John Carey:

"Perth Hub is delivering hundreds of new homes right here in Perth's CBD.

"This includes affordable homes, delivered in partnership with Foundation Housing, close to education and job opportunities and other amenities.

"Soon, Erben's student accommodation project will also deliver more than 1,100 student apartments - a critical investment in the future of our city, especially with ECU's new city campus set to open next year.

"Our investment in Perth City Link has created stunning results and I can't wait to see that progress continue in the coming months."
