- Volunteering WA awarded a $425,000 Lotterywest grant
- Grant will support National Volunteer Week celebrations and the Volunteer of the Year Awards
- National Volunteer Week is held between 19 to 25 May 2025
Minister for Volunteering Don Punch has today announced a $425,000 Lotterywest grant to support National Volunteer Week celebrations across Western Australia in 2025.
Volunteering WA has been awarded the funding to administer a small grants scheme of up to $1,500 for organisations to host an event or activity during the week to join the celebrations.
Held from 19 to 25 May 2025, National Volunteer Week is Australia's largest celebration of volunteering, with this year's theme 'Connecting Communities' to recognise the power of volunteering to bring people together.
The Lotterywest grant will also support the WA Volunteer of the Year Awards, which will be held on 15 May 2025.
The Awards, hosted by Volunteering WA, recognise volunteers across seven award categories including:
- Excellence in Volunteer Management
- Inclusive Volunteering Award
- Lifetime Contribution to Volunteering
- WA Young Volunteer of the Year
- Corporate Volunteering Impact Award
- Community Volunteer Organisation of the Year
- RAC WA Volunteer of the Year
Applications are now open for the National Volunteer Week Grants until 5pm, Wednesday 12 February 2025, with regional and remote organisations strongly encouraged to apply.
