61-Year-Old Charged in St Kilda Drug Trafficking Probe

A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking in the St Kilda area.

Following enquiries, officers from the Port Phillip Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a search warrant at an apartment on Acland Street, St Kilda, about 8am on Friday 24 January.

During a search of the property, police located and seized quantities of cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis and prescription medication, as well as property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

Two men aged 36 and 61 were arrested at the scene.

The older man, who is from St Kilda, has been charged with possessing cocaine, ecstasy and other drugs of dependence, two counts of dealing with property suspected proceeds of crime, and failing to provide password to data storage device.

He was bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 14 April.

The younger man, who is from Maryborough, was issued with a cannabis caution and released.
