Nearly 930,000 jobs have been created since the Albanese Labor Government came to office with an additional 50,200 people in work over the past month.
The Albanese Labor Government has now created more jobs in a parliamentary term than any Government in history.
Today's ABS Labour Force figures show that on the back of increased participation in the workforce, the unemployment rate rose slightly to 4.1 per cent, however it remains at near historic lows.
Under the previous government the unemployment rate averaged 5.6 per cent.
Encouragingly, full-time employment rose strongly in June, by 43,300 to stand at a record high of 9,944,200.
Full-time employment is now 122,100 higher than it was a year ago and has accounted for around 60 per cent of jobs growth during this term of Government.
Part-time employment also rose by 6,800 in June, to stand at a record high of 4,461,800.
Total and full-time employment were at a record high for both men and women in June 2024.
Despite inflation being lower than what we inherited and real wages returning to annual growth, the Government remains acutely aware that many Australians are still doing it tough, due to ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
This is why the Albanese Labor Government has provided significant cost-of-living relief in the Budget, which has seen Australians earn more and keep more of what they earn.
