$975K Boost for Albury Wodonga Health Facilities

NSW Gov

The Albury Wodonga community will benefit from a $975,000 funding boost from the NSW Government to upgrade equipment and health facilities at Albury Wodonga Health.

The Minns Labor Government is investing a total of almost $12 million in 61 projects as part of the Regional Health Minor Works Program.

Projects at Albury Wodonga Health include:

  • $245,000 to upgrade three theatre tables and one orthopaedic frame to ensure the availability of surgical services and enhance the working environment for staff at the Albury Campus.
  • $225,000 to upgrade the dishwasher and blast chillers in the kitchen at the Albury Campus to improve efficiency and capacity of the service for patients and staff.
  • $215,000 to replace ovens in both kitchens at the Albury and Wodonga Campuses to ensure the food service continues to deliver high-quality meals to patients and staff and provides support to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre and Meals on Wheels.
  • $200,000 to purchase and install pan sanitisers across both Albury and Wodonga Campuses to maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and patients.
  • $80,000 to purchase an additional laryngoscope and software to increase the number of swallowing function assessments conducted at the Speech Pathology Service.
  • $10,000 to purchase a bariatric treadmill to provide high-quality care to patients accessing preventative healthcare and rehabilitation programs at the Community Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Gym at the Albury Campus.

This is in addition to the NSW, Victorian and Australian Governments' $558 million commitment to the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital project, one of the largest investments into regional health infrastructure in the state.

Once completed, the project will consolidate complex acute health care services on the one site, improving safety for patients, reducing the duplication of services and the need for urgent travel between the Wodonga and Albury Hospital Campuses.
