The ABC is set to expand our coverage of the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership with expanded pregame programs ahead of our Saturday and Sunday match coverage.
ABC Radio Melbourne is delighted to announce AFL Premiership player and former coach, Danielle Laidley, will make her debut on ABC Radio Melbourne's Saturday Mornings Sports show with Matt Preston and Catherine Murphy this Saturday 9 March at 11:00am AEDT.
Danielle Laidley is an icon of the AFL, playing 151 games for the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne Football clubs and won an AFL Premiership with the Kangaroos in 1996. At only 36, she became one of the youngest senior coaches for North Melbourne, coaching across 7 seasons from 2003 to 2009.
Quickly dusting off after his Friday night football commitments, Mick Malthouse will join Corbin Middlemas and Luke Ball at 12pm AEDT for AFL Saturday ahead of every Saturday match during the season on ABC listen and on local radio in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
The ABC has Sunday's covered with Matt Clinch, Cameron Ling and Jake Niall hosting AFL Sunday at 12pm AEDT heard across local radio in Victoria, WA, South Australia and Tasmania as well as on ABC listen.
The AFL Saturday and AFL Sunday programs will feature the latest AFL news and analysis as well as pregame discussion, special guests and talkback from our audience and will then roll into coverage of the day's matches.
Audiences in the West will continue to get their AFL fix with Sports Talk back for another year on ABC Radio Perth and ABC listen. Clint Wheeldon will be back in the hosting seat joined by experts Sharrod Wellingham and Glen Quartermain on Saturdays at 10am AWST.
This year, our experienced commentating team includes Corbin Middlemas, Ben Cameron, Kelli Underwood, Lauren Bordin, Matt Clinch, Clint Wheeldon, Mitch Turner, Aaron Bryans, Quentin Hull and Brett Sprigg.
