Acai Shop Targeted By Arsonists In Dandenong

Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information to help locate the getaway vehicle used following a ram raid and suspicious fire in Dandenong last week.

Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at an acai shop on the Princes Highway about 3.55am on Tuesday, 18 February.

It's believed a stolen grey Hyundai Tucson was used to crash into the shop front before the store was set alight.

Investigators believe the Tucson was stolen during an aggravated burglary at a Cranbourne East address about 1.20am the day prior.

The offenders fled the scene in a red or maroon Ford G6E FG series sedan, which was last seen travelling east on the Princes Highway.

No arrests have been made at this stage and investigations remain ongoing.

Detectives currently do not believe the ram raid is linked to any further incidents.

Anyone with information, vision or who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
