The Residential-based Aged Care Services Grant Opportunity (GO6989) closed at 2pm AEST on Thursday 29 August 2024.
A total of $250 million in funding has been allocated for 52 projects. Up to $200 million was initially made available, however, an additional $50 million was recently committed to support more projects in this opportunity.
The opportunity focused on maintaining or improving access to quality residential-based aged care services for:
- older people living in regional, rural and remote communities (MM 2 to MM 7)
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander elders in any location, including metropolitan areas (MM 1 to MM 7)
Results
This was a highly competitive opportunity, with demand far exceeding available funding. In total, 397 applications sought over $1.7 billion for the $200 million initially made available.
The opportunity allocated a total of $250 million for 52 projects.
