The nation's largest business network, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has re-elected Nola Watson as president and Mark Birrell AM as deputy president.
The Chamber's annual general meeting has also added the expertise of two accomplished industry leaders to its board, endorsing Adrian Kloeden, president of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Geoff Gwilym, chief executive of the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce, as new directors.
"At a time when Australian business faces unprecedented challenges that demand bold solutions and fearless thinking, the work of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is more meaningful and pressing than ever before," ACCI president Nola Watson said.
"No one works more vigorously than ACCI to protect and serve the interests of Australian businesses. I am honoured to be re-elected as president of the Chamber, serving this vital institution and its members.
"I would also like to acknowledge Steve Knott who retires from the board after eight years of service. He has always demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the work of ACCI and is a tireless advocate for Australian business and the resources sector.
"New directors will help strengthen the organisation for the future and carry forward its enduring mission: to make Australia the best place in the world to do business. ACCI, its board, and the business community at large will benefit immeasurably from their leadership," Ms Watson added.
