Ace Residences: Right-Sizing in Southern Highlands

Highland

The Ace Residences, the newest build of boutique development firm Mathieson Property, is now complete and purchasers are starting to move in. The Bowral project comes from the award-winning, development and investment firm that is headed by Alex Sicari, who was recently nominated as Developer of the Year 2024 for the Urban Developer Leader Awards. With other award-winning projects as part of their profile, including high-end apartments Selena in Terrigal and the Camperdown Modern life sciences project in the heart of the burgeoning inner west area of Sydney, The Ace Residences is their first foray into the booming Southern Highlands property market.

Targeting buyers that are looking to tree-change in one of the most unique and picturesque places in Australia, Mr Sicari was thrilled with the completion of the project. "The Ace Residences is a special project, seeking to meet the needs of the modern down-sizer or 'right-sizer' as we like to call them," he reflects.

"I have found the people of Bowral and the Southern Highlands have embraced the development and we have had a lot of enquiry which has been fantastic. The estate has also found favour amongst Sydney-siders who are looking to take step away from the hustle and bustle of the city and are looking for high end, luxury homes within a more serene environment and lifestyle."

This is true for new occupants Harvey and Helen Little who have made such a change. Always having dreamt of a move to a little slice of heaven away from the Sydney grind, they found that the Ace Residences was the perfect fit. "We saw a rendering of the Ace living spaces in a magazine, with the fireplace and high vaulted ceilings, and we said to ourselves 'lets take a closer look'" Harvey explains "As a consequence of looking at that rendering, here we are, living in the Highlands! We love that this is an intimate estate with only a few like-minded neighbours. The fact that they are single storey and without steps appealed very much to us. As an architect, I delved into the design, fitments, and finishes, and the quality is exactly what we would have specified if we were to design and build a house ourselves. Compared against us buying land and the cost of building, we feel that this solution has worked incredibly well for us."

The estate is inclusive of single storey homes, all with four bedrooms, luxury finishes and low-maintenance gardens that are purchased on a 'buy to own' basis. Purchasers are securing homes with 100% of future capital growth to be held by the home owner and strata costs for common areas kept to a minimum.

Each aspect of the homes has been carefully considered for the changing needs of occupiers, particularly for the semi-retired and retired. The estate is located close to the Bowral Golf course, coveted Bistro Sociale restaurant and attractions offered in Bowral and the Southern Highlands. Architecturally designed with an emphasis on low maintenance lots with large luxurious homes, cathedral ceilings, stone-clad fireplaces and north-facing windows, the Ace Residences have been cultivated to meet buyer needs.

The high-end finishes and quality build were carefully considered by purchasers Grahame and Helen Hackett, Grahame explains "Throughout the whole process, we felt the project team were acting in our best interests and were going to achieve the best result for us" he said. "When we learned about The Ace Residences, the project struck us as standing out, offering something really special, with superior design and the most contemporary features. Unlike any other option we looked at, there is an incredible amount of spaciousness"

Continuing he said: "the developer has done a lot of work in pulling a great team together. I think the finished product is outstanding with beautiful, flowing floor plans and well built in a convenient location close to town."
