Canberrans are now able to choose a radiology service provider that can share diagnostic imaging reports with their My Health Record.
Healthcare Imaging Services (HIS), part of Healius Limited, is one of Australia's largest diagnostic imaging organisations.
Dean Lewsam, Healthcare Imaging Services CEO, said "Patients attending Ginnindera Diagnostic Imaging in Belconnen, Canberra Diagnostic Imaging at the National Capital Private Hospital in Garran and Philip Diagnostic Imaging in Philip now have their test results uploaded to My Health Record."
"We will expand this to include other locations that are part of the HIS network."
Amanda Cattermole, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Digital Health Agency, welcomed the connection of HIS to My Health Record.
"There are more than 14 million diagnostic imaging reports currently available in the My Health Record and each month more and more consumers are viewing their own diagnostic information," she said.
Ms Cattermole said "My Health Record allows you to keep all your important test results safe in one place, which you and your healthcare providers can access at any time to make more informed decisions about your treatment or care."
"Patients don't have to carry around all their test results and undergo unnecessary repeat tests when their reports are safely and securely uploaded to My Health Record," she said.
The Agency publishes a list of pathology and diagnostic imaging providers that can help consumers identify providers able to upload reports to My Health Record.
