Department of Defense Spokesman Lt. Col. David Herndon provided the following travel update:
Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Ms. Sasha Baker departed for travel to the United Kingdom today.
Ms. Baker is scheduled to co-chair the 3rd U.S.-UK Strategic Policy Dialogue alongside UK Ministry of Defence Director General Security Policy Mr. Paul Wyatt on Feb. 23. The dialogue enables the leaders to develop and deliver policy guidance to U.S. and UK teams ahead of the U.S.-UK Strategic Effects and Force Alignment Board scheduled later this year.
The two leaders are slated to discuss a wide range of defense and security issues that focus on aligning U.S.-UK geographic and thematic priorities in the Euro-Atlantic, Middle East, and Indo-Pacific regions.
The talks will reaffirm the allies' defense relationship and deepen the U.S.-UK special relationship.
