Western Australia has welcomed the successful launch of two new routes from Rex Airlines with flights between Melbourne and Adelaide landing in Perth.
Taking to the skies from today, the eight additional flights into Perth will create an additional 60,000 seats into Western Australia each year.
Rex Airlines is operating three flights a week between Adelaide and Perth with fares starting from $249, and five flights a week will fly between Melbourne and Perth, starting from $299.
The airline currently connects WA's regions with flights to Albany, Esperance, Carnarvon and Monkey Mia from Perth.
These new flights come after the launch of a new service between Singapore and Broome on Tuesday and ahead of the Paris to Perth direct flight which will launch next month, further strengthening Western Australia's international and domestic network.

As stated by Acting Tourism Minister John Carey:
"Supporting more direct connections from domestic and international locations is a key pillar of the Cook Government's tourism strategy, and we will continue to encourage more airlines to establish connections into WA.
"We've been clear that we're committed to strengthening Western Australia's aviation network through backing regional routes throughout the State and supporting even more interstate and international non-stop connections to WA, which supports tourism and the broader local economy.
"Just earlier this week, the first international route to fly directly into regional WA since the pandemic took off between Singapore and Broome, and we also look forward to launching our direct flights between Perth and Paris next month, so it's been an incredibly busy couple of years in aviation and we're keen to continue this momentum."
