The New Zealand Open, presented by Sky Sport, is proud to announce a new long-term partnership with sports apparel company adidas.
Tournament Chairman John Hart is delighted to welcome adidas to the New Zealand Open family and is looking forward to working with one of the world's best known brands.
"This partnership with adidas continues to lift the profile of the New Zealand Open and we are very excited to be working with such an iconic sporting brand, said Hart."
The tournament has already seen the partnership bear fruit with two All Black greats confirming their attendance in the Ambassador line-up for 2020.
"We are thrilled to announce that both Beauden Barrett and Israel Dagg have joined our Ambassador ranks for next year. Both are adidas athletes and mad-keen golfers, so it will be great to see their on-field competitive spirits transfer on to the golf course in February."
Darryn Lowe, who heads up the adidas golf brand for the Pacific region, is looking forward to getting behind the New Zealand Open and building on the success of the tournament which has developed since its move to a Pro-Am format in 2012.
"The New Zealand Open is steeped in history, and we hope to add to the most prestigious golfing event in New Zealand by pairing our two brands," said Lowe.
"Having both Beauden and Israel in the line-up will add another dimension to the tournament. Both are great ambassadors for adidas, and we know they will bring their sporting talent and golf skills to Queenstown next year."
Dagg, a 66-Test All Black who retired this year, says he can't wait to get back to Queenstown after enjoying his experience playing in the 100th New Zealand Open earlier this year.
"Playing at both Millbrook Resort and The Hills in the New Zealand Open alongside some of the best in the world is a great experience for anyone, and to get to do it again is a privilege I haven't taken lightly.
"Since my retirement from rugby, I have been on the golf course multiple times a week so I am hoping I can bring a far superior game this time," said Dagg.
The 101st New Zealand Open, presented by SKY Sport, will be staged at Millbrook Resort and The Hills near Queenstown on 27 February to 1 March 2020. The Open, which boasts an increased $1.45 million prize purse, is co-sanctioned by the Australasian PGA Tour and Asian Tour, and in partnership with the Japan Golf Tour.
