Adopt-a-Grandparent: Bridging Generations With Joy

Earlier this year, Canowindra Preschool teamed up with Cabonne Home Support to launch an inspiring initiative: "Adopt-a-Grandparent." Designed to bridge the generational gap, this program brings together preschoolers and local seniors, fostering a shared space of learning, laughter, and companionship.

So far, the program has been a heartwarming success, with seniors joining the preschoolers to read stories, play games, taste-test homemade treats, and experience the magic of events like Book Week. The seniors have relished the chance to connect with young minds, witness the preschool experience firsthand, and form new bonds with the children and their educators.

As the year draws to a close, Adopt-a-Grandparent is gearing up for a festive finale. On Thursday, 28 November at 9 a.m., Cabonne Home Support clients and community members are invited to attend a special Christmas-themed session, where preschoolers will give a sneak preview of their end-of-year presentation. The morning promises a joyful mix of Christmas spirit and community connection—a perfect opportunity to share in the children's enthusiasm and charm.

If you're a Cabonne Home Support client or have a grandchild attending Canowindra Preschool, you're warmly invited to join. Your grandchildren will be thrilled to have you there, and who knows, you may find yourself with a few new "adopted" grandkids by the end of the day!
